WLCU DELEGATION IN WASHINGTON
FOR THE US PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION
The WLCU delegation to the inauguration of US President George W Bush arrived to Washington on Thursday January 19th and began its participation in the various events. The delegation includes the Secretary General Dr Walid Phares,
the Chairman of the Commission on International Relations M Tom Harb and the Chairman of the Commission on Information Dr Anis Karam.
Drs Phares and Karam were the guests of the National Republican Committee event on the evening of the 19th. Dr Karam held a meeting with the US Speaker of the House Dennis Haster.
Karam conveyed to the Speaker, the aspirations of the Lebanese Americans and the Lebanese Diaspora regarding the implementation of UNSCR 1559. M Haster assured Dr Karam of the commitment of Congress and the Administration with
regards ending the Syrian occupation of Lebanon. "Dr Condaleeza Rice, said the US Speaker, will do a fine job in this
regard."
The WLCU delegation to the US Presidential inauguration will convey the gratitude of the Lebanese communities around the world to US Government for introducing a UN resolution calling for the end of the Syrian occupation of Lebanon
