Attention; the Editor MEDIA RELEASE

NABIH BERRI AND HAITHAM JOUMAA HAVE FAILED ONCE AGAIN.
It takes more than corrupt and morally bankrupt masters, their stooges, cronies and spies to interfere with a highly intelligent and discerning Lebanese Diaspora which in its own right is extremely well organized and well connected on the international diplomatic and political scene.
When will they, the remnants of the ousted Syrian Baathist regime, ever learn?
The World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), official representative of over fifteen million (15,000,000) people of Lebanese origin in the Diaspora, takes its legitimacy from our countries of migration and the Lebanese emigrants throughout the world.
The WLCU is An International Non Governmental Organization (INGO), fully acknowledged by the United Nations as a democratic institution, a strong advocate to the Charter of Human Rights; and is totally independent by its own constitution and internal by-laws.
For a period of over 20 years the Berri/Joumaa camp, backed by the Syrian occupation, have been exerting enormous pressure on the Lebanese emigrants, hoping to bring the emigrants and their official representative body, namely the WLCU, under their direct control. It would seem, even to the least of capable analysts that if they can diffuse the powerful voice of the WLCU, then they can continue on their merry way of control by deception, corruption and misrepresentation without accountability.
Haitham Joumaa’s final onslaught onto the WLCU could only have happened by the reappointment of his political Lord and Master, Nabih Berri, to the position of the Speaker of the House. The Lebanese Parliament has a great deal for which it must answer.
It seems also, that there are those in the Parliament with short memories; for example, it is quite conceivable for any Lebanese throughout the world and in Lebanon to ask the following question; given the comprehensive control of the military, the secret and security services and the supposed claim of peace and tranquillity in the nation, how could the Lebanese leadership claim no knowledge whatsoever of the assassinations of the late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, Journalist Samir Kassir and Communist leader George Hawi? Such a claim is totally incomprehensible to say the least; and even if it’s true, because such atrocities have taken place during their custodianship, purely on moral grounds, they should resign their positions and allow fresh faces to take the country forward without the stains of blood and the stigma of cover-ups.

WLCU -2-

The Nation Lebanon, residents and emigrants need to be healed. Does anyone really think that the healing process can take place through the same leadership which oversaw the destruction and corruption of our beloved Lebanon?
Does anyone really think that the Lebanese Diaspora will ever again trust the future of our Nation Lebanon to the same leadership which has driven millions of young men and women out of their families’ homes and country, to foreign lands, perhaps never to return.

Perhaps this is just a taste of the many reasons why the Diaspora’s WLCU is so passionate about drafting, submitting the draft and then through a Presidential top level delegation, personally handed the draft resolution to the US government, the United Nations Security Council and the European Parliament; which eventually became UNSCR 1559.

Perhaps the Berri/Joumaa camp supported by the Syrians, have under estimated the political clout of the Diaspora’s WLCU and therefore the sudden urge of endeavour to undermine such strength and capabilities.
Then perhaps, their efforts are mere folly, for the action plan is well and truly underway; the Syrians are ousted from Lebanon, the free elections in Lebanon were a resounding success , political exiles are now returning home and political prisoners are now free from prison.
The rest of our objectives for Lebanon will be achieved one at a time, heading the list without any doubt is the absolute demand for Hezbollah to surrender its arms but remain as political force in the country if it so choses and then onto the burning issue of corruption; and not overlooking the return of the Palestinians to their own country.
The Diaspora’s future objectives for the new Lebanon will be unveiled by the WLCU leadership at the appropriate time.
Those seeking to interfere with the Diaspora’s WLCU should understand this message;
Lebanon is our country.
We will never allow you or any other to destroy it again as you have done before; and we will not trust anyone to think and act on our behalf again.
