REPORT # 21   1/8/2000
As a result of the upcoming summer recess, the Permanent Military Court decided to reduce its weekly sessions from 3 to just one each Wednesday. This decision shall, inevitably, slow down the trials of the SLA members which might not be through before the end of the current year. 35 lawyers attended the 17 military court session held on July 19 to plead for 150 defendants. The court convened at noon and the rulings were not out until the early hours of Thursday. 31 defendants received different sentences ranging from acquittal to fifteen years.
