Concerning the projected Israeli withdrawal from the South, the Party of the Guardians of the Cedars - National Lebanese Movement issued the following communiqué :
1- As a matter of principle, the Israeli withdrawal from 8% of Lebanon without the simultaneous withdrawal of Syrian troops from the greater part, 92%, of our territory and the continuity of the Iranian and Palestinian militias to form States within the State will not return Lebanon's sovereignty nor free his usurped political decision.
2- It should have been the duty of the Lebanese Administration if it is a genuinely national authority to negotiate simultaneously the withdrawal of the Syrians and the Israelis and to proceed forthwith to disarm the militias in the pay of foreign parties who have designs over Lebanon; and thereby assume full control of security on all the territory if the Lebanon is to profit and not foreign parties.
3- It should have been the duty of the Lebanese Administration if it is a genuinely national authority to negotiate at least with Israel the implementation of the Security Council 425 in order to give the fruits of withdrawal to Lebanon. But it has failed to do so because of cowardice and or treachery. Having failed to negotiate, it has placed Lebanon in a critical situation.
4- Lebanon is today the certain loser. He will not profit from the Israeli withdrawal, whether it occurs unilaterally or with an accord since, if the withdrawal is the result of an accord with Syria, it will sanction her seizure of our country and thereby, Syria will be the winner and Lebanon the loser! And if the withdrawal is unilateral, then Iran, represented by the Hezballah will be the winner and Lebanon the loser!
In any case, the positions of the puppets of the Taef Agreement will be shaken because their role would be ended and the popular curse will follow them even to the grave!
