At 20:00 hours the 7th session of the Permanent Military Court (PMC)was concluded after some 7 hours of examining charges against defendants prosecuted for entering the Israeli territories and, the more serious charges, of enlisting in the South Lebanon Army (SLA). Shortly after 23:00 the PMC handed down a number of sentences ranging between one week detention to 15 years imprisonment.

Two events captured the attention of the FHHRL's observers:
1- The presiding magistrate interrupted the session and addressed the lawyers: "The court is well informed on the situation in South Lebanon ( when it was under the occupation), I, therefore, suggest that your pleas be restricted entirely to the articles of the law." The lawyers responded favorably.
The FHHRL considers the instructions of the presiding judge unconstitutional and illegal for they narrow the already suffocating latitude of the defence. Justice is more, much more, than a simple recitation of articles of the Penal Code. It is primatrily looking into the facts, factors and motives; public and private. The overall conditions and circumstances are as important as the psychic buildup of the defendants. Stripping the attorneys of their finest instrument is a denial of justice pure and simple.
2- One of the defendants, Abdallah Omar al Qadiri, while refuting charges of taking part in warfare against the Lebanese Army and the Reistance, admitted :"I took part in an operation against 4 Palestinians members of the Democratic Front who were later on liguidated at Shab'a according to what I heard." The tribunal did not find the information worth looking into.
