To Hell with All the Parties

They say the opposition in Lebanon is now split, but I say there was never an actual opposition to begin with.
They say we don't need to have another election at this time because it might hurt the country; I say that if practicing the democratic process is going to hurt the country than what does supporting a dictatorship do to this country?

When it comes down to it, the Baabda - Aley election it is not going to be about opposition vs. loyalists; it is going to be Lebanese nationalists vs. Syrian puppets. It is about sovereignty vs. subservience and freedom vs. oppression.

Now, on which side are you?

The media is hinting at threats voiced by Hizballah, Amal and Walid Jumblat. Meanwhile all the pro-Syrian parties and Made-in-Syria leaders have sided with the government nominee, Mr. Pierre Hilou. But the media is not telling the Lebanese people who ordered all these politicians to stand behind the Hilou nomination. The media is not saying that the Syrian occupier is the force that gathered all those who are advocating for Mr. Hilou.

The master called and the slaves obeyed.

The nomination of the FPM nominee, Mr. Hikmat Dieb is a big and loud "No" in the face of Jumblat, Areslan, Hizbollah, Amal and the other politicians, denominations' leaders, parties and foreign powers who wanted to deal with the Mount Lebanon residents--the Christian in particular--on a Dehemmitude basis.

The Mount Lebanon Christian community is not that weak yet despite of all of its previous set backs; it has not given in to accept such a humiliation and given up to such a slavery mentality.

It is very clear, in my opinion, that the residents of Baabda - Aley shall ignore the stances of all the parties that pretend to be a part of the opposition while in reality they are the other face of the imposed puppet regime. Nobody can deceive the people any longer, especially the young generation, ie. the university students who are holding freedom and its sovereign flag high.

The residents of Baabda - Aley shall support Lebanon's unity, integrity, dignity, identity and independence. Lebanon's national interests come first, and all those who will vote for Hikmat Dieb will be actually voting for the hopes and aspirations of all the patriotic Lebanese who believe strongly in a free, sovereign and independent Lebanon.

The Baabda - Aley voters shall loudly say YES to Hikmat Dieb on September 14, 2003 and NO to Henry Hilou. They will say YES to freedom and NO to slavery, a big YES to Lebanon and a big NO to the Baathist, Stalinist Syria and its local puppets. They will say enough is enough and that time has come for the Syrian occupier to leave Lebanon and take with him all its evil tools of human destruction and crime.

The principle of winning or losing the MP post in the Baabda-Aley election is not the core or the essence of  heroic democratic confrontation. What really counts is our honorable stance of dignity in defending our right to vote for the runner who personifies our believes and hopes and most importantly our vision for the Lebanon that we want; the Lebanon that Sheik Bachir and thousands of patriotic Lebanese gave their lives willingly on the altar of martyrdom.

My people in Baabda-Aley stand tall like our holy Cedars and let the whole world know what you want. Let the whole world understand that you are as strong as you have always been, strong in faith, will, hope, solidarity and perseverance.

Hikmat Dieb, God bless you and bless all those who will vote for you, and through you for Freedom, independence, sovereignty and dignity.

Long Live Free Lebanon
